It’s understood the Cabinet will discuss emergency funding for areas affected by flooding following Storm Desmond.
The Minister of State at the Department of the Office for Public Works, Simon Harris, says he will brief his Cabinet colleagues tomorrow on the extent of the problem – and seek emergency flood funding.
Meanwhile, clean up operations are continuing in towns across Ireland today.
Flooding was worst in the west of the country, with rivers bursting their banks in counties Kerry, Cork, Mayo, Sligo and Galway.
