« BackBooks of evidence arising from robbery of Waterville Post Office now ready

Books of evidence in the cases arising from the robbery of Waterville Post Office on August 3rd are now ready.

32-year old Brian O’Sullivan with an address at Coolies, Muckross, Killarney and 36-year-old Marcus O’Rourke of Rathanane, Kilcummin are both charged with four offences each in connection with the robbery.

The alleged offences include the robbery of cash to the value of approximately €5,000 from Waterville post mistress Lisa O’Reilly Foran; ramming a garda car; having a firearm – or imitation firearm – with intent to commit an offence; and damage to garda property.

At a previous sitting, Tralee District Court heard that the book of evidence was delayed as there was a lot of work in preparing it.

At Wednesday’s sitting of Tralee District Court, the court heard the books of evidence are now ready.
Judge James O’Connor further remanded the suspects in custody.

The cases will now go forward to the next sitting of the Circuit Criminal Court in Tralee.
