A body has been recovered in the search for a fisherman missing off the West Cork coast.
The alarm was raised when a man – in his 60’s – failed to return to shore in Schull last night, having left on a fishing trip earlier in the day.
A major search operation involving – local rescue boats, the LÉ Orla and a Coast Guard helicopter – resumed this morning.
It’s understood a body was recovered at around 11am by a local fishing vessel.
Valentia Coast Guard assisted in co-ordinating the operation.
