The man whose body was found this morning in Kenmare Bay following a search which began yesterday has been named locally.
Bill Topham an electrician in his 50s and father of 3 was from Templenoe.
The alarm was raised yesterday at around 2.30 after a boat with two men capsized, one man was rescued after swimming ashore to a nearby island.
Tragically Mr Topham’s body was discovered in the water this morning at around 9.30.
The search was coordinated by Valentia Coast Guard and included Iveragh and Castletownbere coast guard units, Derrynane Inshore Rescue, navy divers and the rescue helicopter.
Up to 150 locals also helped search the shoreline.
