Funding has been allocated to protect the birthplace of Daniel O’Connell.
The money is part of a national allocation under the Structures at Risk Fund.
Kerry Fine Gael Deputy Brendan Griffin has welcomed the announcement.
Over €900,000 has been allocated for 57 heritage projects nationwide through this fund which is designed to protect Ireland’s built heritage.
This fund also supports employment in the area of conservation and construction.
Around €46,000 has been assigned to three Kerry structures at risk.
€21,250 is earmarked for Carhan House in Caherciveen; the birthplace of the Liberator Daniel O’Connell.
€20,000 is allocated for The Cable Station in Farranreagh, Valentia Island.
Beaufort House is to be given €5,000.
