« BackBelfast republicans to visit Kerry to honour Ballykissane dead

Approximately 60 republicans from the Short Strand area of Belfast are to visit Kerry this weekend to honour the three men who lost their lives at Ballykissane pier on Good Friday morning 1916.

They include members of Charlie Monahans family who drowned with Donal Sheehan and Con Keating at the pier outside Killorglin.

The three-day visit will include visits to Caherciveen, Killorglin and Banna Strand.

There will be a ceremony on Saturday at 4.30pm, at Ballykissane pier, where speakers will include Deputy Martin Ferris, Senator Niall O’Donnghaile, and Cllr Damian Quigg.
