Top Gear is coming to Kerry this weekend for a filming of the TV show’s new series.
Top British radio and TV presenter Chris Evans and Friends star Matt LeBlanc are the new presenters of the series.
It’s one of the most popular TV shows in the world and has been mired in controversy since the firing of its former lead presenter Jeremy Clarkson and the subsequent decision by the show’s other presenters to leave.
Chris Evans made the announcement about Kerry when speaking to a colleague Rabbi Julia Neuberger on his BBC2 Radio show this morning.
He says they’ll be filming in Dingle and possibly Killorglin.
Fine Gael TD Brendan Griffin wrote to the makers of Top Gear in 2014, inviting them to the Kingdom.
He’s delighted with the news and hopes the show’s mysterious character, The Stig, might even make an appearance.
