The average rent for privatly rented dwellings registered with the Residential Tenancies Board in Kerry, for the third quarter of this year, was €594.
This was up €17 when compared to the average rent in Kerry in the second quarter of this year, which was €577.
The average rent for private rented dwellings registered with the Residential Tenancies Board in Kerry, for the third quarter of this year shows also increase of €26 when compared to the same period last year.
The Residential Tenancies Board’s Quarterly Rent Index is compiled by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI).
The index reflects actual rents being paid as distinct from the asking or advertised rent.
Nationally, monthly rents grew by 2.3% – overall, the data shows rents for houses are increasing at a slightly faster rate than rents for apartments, at 2.6% compared to 1.8%.
On an annual basis, rents nationally were 8.6% higher than this time last year, up from €897 to €973.
