Asthma Society of Ireland
According to the Asthma Society, there are more than 14 thousand asthmatics in Kerry.
The organisation is calling on the Government to  upgrade  the air monitoring station in Valentia.
It says the station can’t detect  certain air pollutants, called particulate matter.
The Asthma Society says the nationwide smoky coal ban also needs to be implemented as soon as possible.
It says nearly 2,000 people die every year in Ireland as a result of air pollution.
