A farmer who’s currently on holidays in West Kerry, has appealed to locals to come to the rescue of a sheep, whom he believes is trapped on the Conor Pass.
The West Cork man was visiting Dingle at the weekend, when he spotted the sheep high up in an area known as Peddlars’ Lake, on the road between Tralee and Dingle. He believes the animal is trapped on a small piece of ground, about six by four feet, and may be there for several days. As a sheep farmer himself, he’s convinced the sheep is both hungry and distressed, and is unable to rejoin her flock. He appealed to West Kerry sheep farmers, or animal rescue groups, to help the distressed animal as soon as possible.
