Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the main Tralee to Killarney road last evening which left a woman with serious injuries.
The N22 has now fully reopened to traffic after being restricted to one lane at the site of the incident. The three vehicle crash involving an official Garda van and two other vehicles took place at Scart cross around seven miles from Killarney at a quarter to 8 last evening. A woman in her 30s who was the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles was taken to Kerry General Hospital with injuries described as serious. The driver of the official Garda van, was also taken to Kerry General with what are described as minor injuries.
The driver of the third car was not injured according to Gardai.
As this collision involved a Garda vehicle it has been referred to The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission, which is standard procedure.
