Another member of Fianna Fáil is seeking to replace John Brassil on Kerry County Council, after he was elected to Dáil Éireann.
Nominations are due in by 1pm today and it’s understood that at least five candidates have put forward their names.
Ann Murphy from Ballyheigue is the latest to declare that she’s seeking to be co-opted onto the council.
Ms Murphy is the vice-chairperson of the Fianna Fáil Comhairle Dáil Cheanntair in Kerry.
The other candidates include John Healy, Dan Brassil, Marie Gorman and John Hannon.
The process is to be completed ahead of Monday’s special meeting of the council.
