International Women’s Day is being marked in Kerry with a visit by Anne Frank’s step-sister who herself survived a Nazi concentration camp.
Holocaust survivor Eva Schloss will speak at a special event this evening organised by the Kerry Businesswomen’s Network.
Ms Schloss and her family were sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp.
After World War II, her mother married Anne Frank’s father Otto – he was the only member of the Frank family to survive the Holocaust.
Ms Schloss, who’s 86, is the co-founder of the Anne Frank Trust.
The event begins at the Ballygarry House Hotel in Tralee at 6pm.
Tomorrow, she will discuss her experience of the Holocaust with Kerry students who will in turn speak about the legacy of 1916.
