That’s according to figures revealed in the An Bord Pleanala annual report.
Kerry County Council made decisions on 960 planning applications during 2015, and 58 of these were appealed to An Bord Pleanala.
The planning appeals board made decisions on 55 Kerry cases last year, in almost 40 per cent of these they reversed the council’s decision.
An Bord Pleanala upheld the council’s decision in over 22 per cent of cases, and in 38 per cent they varied the decision.
