alliance-medicalThe managing director of Alliance Medical in Ireland has confirmed that two directors from its parent company in the UK have visited Tralee following an alleged rape by one of its employees.

The incident is alleged to have involved a radiographer employed by Alliance Medical and working at the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee.

The radiographer is no longer an employee of the company and is understood to have left the country.

Malcolm Banks, who is managing director for Ireland of Alliance Medical said the company employs 13 staff at the Bon Secours in Tralee.

The man involved in the alleged incident had been employed by the company since 2009, had a clean employment record and had undergone Garda vetting.

Mr Banks said Alliance Medical is committed to delivering a safe and high quality service to patients, and as well as co-operating fully with the Garda enquiry, it is carrying out its own independent review.
