A 19-year-old man who snatched an elderly woman’s handbag on a Tralee street in broad daylight has been given until July to have compensation paid in full.
Ryan Horgan of Arlington Lodge, Tralee pleaded guilty to stealing the handbag that contained over €150 at Market Street, on November 21st last.
He also pleaded guilty to stealing a handbag and a set of house keys at Bailey’s Corner, Ashe Street, on November 16th, 2015.
He had been ordered at a previous sitting of Tralee District Court to pay a total of €1,500 in compensation to his victims.
His solicitor Pat Mann said his aunt had managed to collect €1,300 from him.
Judge James O’Connor remanded him on continuing bail to the July 20th sitting of the court by which time he has to have the balance of the compensation in court.
