Seventy-year-old farmer Jim Keane’s tractor was sighted yesterday in the River Feale, which adjoins his farmland at Dysert, Lixnaw.

It’s feared the tractor may have slid into the river, but the case is still being treated as a missing person’s one.

Valentia Coastguard is assisting Gardaí with the search, along with the Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue boat and a Ballybunion Coastguard unit.

PRO of Ballybunion Sea and Cliff Rescue, Frank O’Connor says the river is dangerous terrain, and he’s asking anyone wishing to take part in the search to contact the authorities first.
