That’s according to Udarás na Gaeltachta’s End of Year Review.
The jobs were created in companies operating mainly in the food and drink, services and crafts sectors.
Sliabh Breandáin Teo, producers of Kerry Spring mineral water, ceased operations during the year resulting in the loss of over 30 jobs.
When losses are taken into consideration, there was a total net loss of six jobs.
There were 655 full-time equivalent jobs in Údarás client companies in the West and South Kerry Gaeltachts at year end.
Twelve new companies started trading during the year and 19 people were employed in these businesses at the end of 2015.
Enterprises, operating mainly in the technological, food and tourism sectors were established, and further growth is expected in these businesses in the coming years.
A number of new projects were approved throughout the year which are expected to generate an investment of €3.3 million and create 42 new jobs when fully operational.
