45 new Special Needs Assistant posts have been announced for schools in Kerry.
The Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton announced the additional SNAs, which will be available for allocation to schools from September.
Of the 45 new posts, 27 have been allocated to primary schools, 15 to post-primary schools, and three to Special Schools.
Deputy Michael Healy-Rae welcomed the news, saying students need every bit of help they can get.
However, he hopes there will be additional SNA posts announced for Kerry in the future.
