There has been a 30 percent drop in the potato supply in Kerry.
A rise in demand as well as poor weather conditions in recent months are being blamed. Growers around the county are reporting a reduction in the yield caused by the cold and wet weather. Noel Clifford who’s a potato producer in Ardfert, says it’s been a very poor growing season with little or no heat. Noel says the low yield is hitting producers in their pockets:
