Over 2,000 people are said to have been affected by a phone and internet fault in the Dingle area.
Credit card services are also said to be down in several local shops and businesses.
According to a statement released by Eir, high winds arising from Storm Jake have damaged the radio link which serves over 700 broadband customers and over 2,000 landline customers locally.
Eir’s networks team are currently onsite and working to restore service to all impacted customers as quickly as possible.
There is no definite restoration time but estimates point towards the later afternoon.
We will provide further updates on the situation as the day progresses.
