« Back217,000 euro allocated to Kerry projects

Three Kerry projects have been allocated over 217,000 euro as part of a pilot scheme.

The Rural Economic Development Zone scheme will see 3.7 million euro given to projects in communities nationwide.

143,600 euro has been allocated to a flagship project in the MacGillycuddy Reeks to repair badly damaged upland trails.

40,000 euro will be made available to a proposed sustainable economic development project in Cahersiveen.

A third project as part of the Killorglin Community Enterprise Initiative has been awarded 34,000 euro to undertake a full feasibility study of the Killorglin Mill.

The announcement has been welcomed Senator Marie Moloney and Deputy Arthur Spring.
