The station assisted with 1019 incidents in total last year. This was a 30 percent increase in the last three years.
The increase coincided with new helicopters into the coast guard which resulted in enhanced assistance to the HSE in Medivac or Medical evacuations.
Valentia Coastguard which celebrated 100 years in operation in 2014 was primarily set up for assisting with marine search and rescue.
This has since expanded however to cover other incidents such as mountain rescue and missing persons.
