A packed dome and a large television audience last night watched the first 18 of the 2016 Rose of Tralee contestants.
Kerryman Daithí O’Sé interviewed 18 Roses last night in the Dome and the remaining 14 Roses will take to the stage this evening for the second night of the televised live show.

The Roses appearing on-stage tonight, in no particular order, will be Melbourne, Texas, Offaly, Philadelphia, Galway, Chicago, Wicklow, Ohio, Longford, North Carolina, London, Arizona, New Zealand and South Australia.

The Kerry Rose, Danielle O’Sullivan, will also take to the stage in front of her home support.

Coverage starts at 8pm, with the 2016 Rose of Tralee to be crowned at approximately 11 o’clock tonight.

Meanwhile, as of lunchtime the Kilkenny Rose, Sarah Kearns, leads the way with the bookmakers at 6-to-4, with Chicago Rose Maggie Rose McEldowney the second-favourite, followed by London Rose Emma Murphy-O’Connor.

Lisa O’Reilly, the Cavan Rose who was interrupted on-stage last night, is also among the favourites at 8-to-1.

Meanwhile, the Kerry Rose, Danielle O’Sullivan is at 80-to-1. A Kerry Rose has never won the Rose of Tralee International festival.
