An end to the teachers dispute which closed hundreds of schools could be in sight.
A document is being issued to the ASTI today after late night negotiations with the Department of Education.
The ASTI called off their industrial action earlier this month to allow talks with the department to take place.
Those finished in the early hours of this morning and a document is now being prepared for both sides.
The Department and the union will examine it and decide whether to agree to a deal or go back for more talks.
If accepted it would end the dispute over pay that closed hundreds of schools earlier this month.
Teachers are looking for equal pay for recent graduates and assurances over working hours.
Other public service unions will be eagerly watching to see any deal the teachers may get – and how it may affect their own wage claims.
