National Geographic expedition ship arrives in Dingle

One of the foremost expedition ships in the world dropped anchor in today in Dingle Harbour.

Almost 400 feet in length (377 feet) and 55 feet across, the National Geographic Explorer arrived earlier today.

national geographic explorerThe ship, which is circumnavigating England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales arrived in Dingle having sailed from the Port of Fowy.

The Explorer accommodates 148 guests in 81 cabins and has six decks.

The ice-class vessel departed on this voyage from Portsmouth and will travel to Greenland and the Canadian Arctic next month.
