The community of Moyvane in North Kerry is rallying around the family of a young man injured in a road crash in Central America. Patrick Curtin, who’s in his twenties, has been working in Guatemala for Liebherr Container Cranes which are based in Fossa, Killarney. It’s understood the road collision involving the young footballer took place in Guatemala yesterday. It’s not known the extent of Patrick Curtin’s injuries. Liebherr has confirmed that a staff member has been injured but says it would be making no further comment. The Department of Foreign Affairs says it’s providing consular assistance to an Irish citizen who was injured in Guatemala. Patrick Curtin is a gifted footballer who’s played for the Kerry minor, under 21 and senior teams. He’s also a member of the Moyvane senior football team. It’s understood some of his family are travelling to Guatemala.
