The new move to ban children from pubs after 9pm is causing serious confusion in the county. That’s according to the Managing Director of the Gleneagle Hotel, and Fáilte Board Member, Cllr. Patrick O’Donoghue.Cllr. O’Donoghue has been briefed by the Irish Hotels Federation on their legal position. According to the I.H.F, if a venue is used primarily for the purpose of entertainment, children may remain on the premises after 9 o’clock. Cllr. O’donoghue said that while the ban is being introduced for valid reasons, it is not necessarily the right course of action to take.
