Motion to increase fees defeated by Killarney golf members.

Killarney golf club members have defeated a motion to increase golf club fees by 30%. The increase was rejected by only 1 vote at an E.G.M. The club has an annual deficit of half a million. The increase in fees would have raised 200,000. According to Sean coyne captain of the Killarney golf club the reason for this cash crisis is related to a drop in green fees and increased competition. However, he feels members are agreeable to paying a certain amount and it’s a matter of agreeing on a way forward.
