Morning Sports Update

It’s reported that Tipperary’s Jason Forde has been given a two game ban for his altercation with Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald.

According to the Irish Independent he’s been charged with a category 4 infraction but Tipp will appeal the ruling.

The Central Hearing’s Committee doesn’t sit until next week so as it stands Forde can play in Sunday’s league final against Galway in Limerick.

2016 All Ireland champions Ballyboden St. Enda’s are out of this year’s Dublin championship at the first round stage.

Bernard Brogan kicked 6-points in a 2-10 to 0-13 win for St Oliver Plunkett’s Eoghan Ruadh at Parnell Park.

By far the biggest win of the night belonged to Kilmacud Crokes who beat Erin’s Isle by an incredible 10-12 to 0-7.

There were also wins for St. Mary’s of Saggart, St. Jude’s and Parnells.

Meanwhile Diarmuid Connolly says he only found out about his potential ban from an accumulation of black cards recently.
