Minister for Health Mary Haney has said that she’s fully aware of the need for a new community hospital in Dingle and is giving serious consideration to the matter. Delays to the proposed 72 bed facility have caused controversy in West Kerry in recent times. Labour is accusing Fianna Fail of trying to prevent the opposition from highlighting the matter while Fianna Fail says other parties are using it as a political football. The hospital was to enter construction stage in June but funds have not yet been released to invite tenders. Tanaiste Mary Harney says any announcment on Dingle would be included in the capital funding programme which she will plans to release shortly.
