MEP says disabled and elderly should have access to online public services

Liadh Ni RiadaDisabled and elderly people should be able to access data and information about public services on the internet as easily as everyone else in the future.

That’s according to Ireland South Sinn Féin MEP Liadh Ni Riada.

The European Parliament recently voted on what’s called the web accessibility directive, which will mean the websites and mobile apps of public administrations and bodies, such as hospitals and courts, should be accessible to everyone including those with visual impairments.

Ms Ni Riada says this is only right.
