Kenmare’s Flor McCarthy has slipped to third in the Irish Farmers’ Association Presidential Election. Votes are being counted in Dublin in the election which came about after the resignation of Eddie Downey last year following a pay scandal. Around 4pm 820 branches were counted out of 947. Joe Healy is on 11,331 votes. Henry Burns has overtaken Flor McCarthy and has 7,292 votes. Flor McCarthy won both Kerry and West Cork and has 5,345 votes. Joe Healy won the remainder of Munster and looks in a strong position to be the next IFA President but Henry Burns is gaining ground.
Semi-final draws are to take place this weekend for various Kerry Schoolboys/Girls Cup competitions.Those draws will be live on Radio Kerry.Padraig Harnett reports
