The Mayor of Kerry says he wants the proceeds of any possible sale from the ESB yard in Listowel to be reinvested in the communications and power network in the town. The ESB today announced that they are to close the yard because it`s no longer commercially viable. Staff will now work out of the Tralee yard.There has been widespread discontent in the town recently over the level of service provided by the ESB. A spokesman for the company says no decision has been made yet as to what they will do with the yard. Councillor Ned O Sullivan says if it is sold then the money should stay in the town.
