A special Mass is to take place today in memory of the baby boy found dead in a Killarney apartment complex on Sunday evening. The 11 month old – named locally as baby Karol Rozycki – was found at an apartment at Park Place on Upper High Street, shortly before 6 o’clock on Sunday evening when it’s believed his mother returned from work. Emergency services were unable to save the child’s life – he was pronounced dead at the scene. A man in his 30s, found at the scene and believed to be a relative of the child, was taken to University Hospital Kerry in Tralee for treatment. A post mortem was carried out on the infant yesterday evening and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. A special Mass for baby Karol Rozycki and his family takes place this afternoon at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney, at 4.30. His funeral is to take place at a later date in Poland.
