Sinn Fein TD Martin Ferris says he believes that attempts are being made by a small number of gardai in the county to criminalise republicans. His comments come after a photograph appeared in the media displaying an IRA bodhran beside a cache of drugs seized last week.Deputy Ferris says no member of the Sinn Fein Party or the wider republican movement are involved in the drug trafficking trade. He says he will not be making a complaint to the Garda Complaints Commission as he claims they are not an independent body. Deputy Ferris says this week`s picture is part of an ongoing campaign.
