Man who died in Ballylongford farming accident is named

HSA2The man who died in an accident on his North Kerry farm has been named. Sixty-five (65) year old married father of two John O’Connor of Ahanagran, Ballylongford died as a result of an incident involving a tractor at around 9.30 yesterday morning. Emergency services had attended the scene, but Mr O’Connor was pronounced dead. The Health and Safety Authority is investigating the incident. It’s the fourth fatality on Irish farms this year, and the third involving machinery. John O’Connor’s funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock at Saint Michael the Archangel’s Church, Ballylongford, followed by burial in Lislaughlin Abbey.
