A Kilcummin man charged with possession of heroin for sale or supply in a Tralee car park has been remanded in custody. 46 year old Marcus O’Rourke with addresses in Knocklebede and Rathanane, Kilcummin, Killarney appeared before Killarney District Court. Gardai told the court the heroin was in separate deals in six bags in the Brandon car park between 11.40 and 11.50 last Wednesday morning, January 27th. The drugs had a street value of €8,250, the district court heard. Judge James O’Connor said he was declining jurisdiction in the case. The state objected to bail and Mr O’Rourke was remanded in custody by consent. He will reappear in Killarney District Court on March 1st next for the book of evidence. Judge James O’Connor suggested the book could be hurried up as jurisdiction had been declined.
