A major revamp of the canal walkway between Tralee and Blennerville has gotten underway. Upgrading works on the popular amenity route include resurfacing the walkway to create a shared cycle and walkway, with new public lighting and landscaping. The works are expected to take up to 12 weeks, and the existing walkway will be closed during that time. These upgrades are part of an overall €2.2 million investment in infrastructure in Tralee by Kerry County Council and the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport; the works aim to encourage people to make use of walkways and cycleways for travel purposes.
