The Listowel Harvest Festival has been launched. One of Ireland’s top racing festivals, the annual 7 day Listowel Harvest Festival is on from Sunday 15th to Saturday 21st of September 2013. Racing highlights during the week include the legendary €160k Guinness Kerry National Handicap Steeplechase (Grade A) Chase on Wednesday 18th; the €40k Guinness Handicap Hurdle on Thursday 19th and the Listowel Races Supporters Club Sponsored Race ‘The Slan Abhaile” on Saturday 21st September. This September, Listowel are celebrating 155 years of racing, making it one of the longest running and most successful racing festivals in the country today. In addition to top quality National Hunt and Flat racing over the 7 vibrant days of the festival, the Listowel Racing Committee have also organised a wide range of events to get everyone, of every age, into the celebratory atmosphere. On the fashion front both genders are catered for with the Moriarty’s Best Dressed Man on Thursday 19th and the Chic Boutique Ladies Day on Friday 20th of September. This year, the event is judged again by Daithi O Se and Celia Holman Lee. This year’s Festival opens with the Kerry Group Day.
