First hour free parking is a live issue for the Listowel Chamber of Commerce according to its acting president John Galvan. In a presentation to members of Listowel Town Council the chamber outlined a number of issues to the council. Among them was the towns refuse collection service, the time frame of election posters and the long term direction of the town plan. Listowel Chamber of Commerce outlined a number of issues to members of the Town Council that they would like future input on.John Galvan Acting President said the chamber would like to act as a sounding board as to how people react to changes made by the council. Questions raised by the chamber included the possibility of a 25 year plan for the town and if all agencies could be consulted in its planning phase. In response Town Manager Michael McMahon said some plans in the current town development plan were realistically not going to be realised.
