Lecture on Austin Stack in Tralee this evening

A lecture is taking place this evening in Tralee on Austin Stack. Tralee Library Stack was born in Ballymullen and in 1916 he made preparations for the landing of arms by Roger Casement; he was arrested and sentenced to death but later this was commuted to penal servitude. His health suffered as a result of going on hunger strike for 41 days in 1924 and he passed away in 1929. The free event being held at 7 o’clock in Tralee Library will be given by historian Reverend J Anthony Gaughan who is from Listowel and who wrote a biography on Stack.
