Joan Freeman, founder of suicide and self-harm crisis centre Pieta House, will launch Darkness into Light 2016 with Electric Ireland in the Porter House, Killarney, tomorrow at 8.30pm. Taking place on Saturday, 7th of May, Darkness into Light is a unique, early morning fundraising event which begins in darkness at 4.15am as thousands of people walk or run a 5km route while dawn is breaking. This year, Darkness into Light will take place in over 100 locations in Ireland and abroad including in the US, the UK, Scotland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and Asia. The event will take place this year in 5 venues in County Kerry including in Killarney (Nathan’s Walk), Dingle, Listowel and for the first time in Cahersiveen and Tralee. Registration and route information for Darkness into Light 2016 will be available on dil.pieta.ie from March 7th.
