Bookmaker’s Ladbrokes has been placed into examinership by the High Court. The bookies has a chain of almost 200 shops across the country and employs over 800 people. There are 6 Ladbrokes outlets in the Kerry area – Tralee, Killarney, Castleisland, Rathmore, Listowel and Abbeyfeale. The company says its sought court protection after a number of years of falling profits. Ladbrokes is also warning that redundancies among its staff are likely as it restructures its business.
