Killorglin pharmaceutical company planning expansion

Pharmaceutical company Astellas Ireland is planning to expand its Killorglin facility.

It’s submitted a planning application to Kerry County Council for construction of a warehouse, packaging areas, offices, plant rooms, car parking and internal roads at its plant in Bansha, Killorglin.

This facility, which manufactures a range of drugs, was established in 1990 and currently employs 259 permanent and 65 temporary staff.

Local Councillor Michael Cahill says the planning application is a great vote of confidence in the company, Killorglin, and Kerry.
