The man charged with assault in relation to the death of Gerard O Leary in Miltown in September has been remanded until February of next year. Superintendent Tadgh Muldoon told Judge Terrance Finn at today`s sitting of Killorglin District Court there is a huge volume of evidence to be gathered in this case. 51 year old Timothy Riordan is charged with assault causing harm following an incident in Milltown on the night of the All Ireland. 38 year old Mr. O`Leary died several days later at Cork University Hospital.Superintendent Tadgh Muldoon requested a further 12 weeks to prepare The Book Of Evidence. He said this was necessary due to the volume of evidence, telling the court that 190 statements have been taken. Solicitor for the defendant Pat Mann consented to the application. Timothy Riordan has been remanded to appear before Killorglin District Court on February 10th next year.
