A three man team has been set up in Killarney to attract film investors to the town. Following the re-showing of The Dawn made in Killarney almost 70 years ago recently a decision was made by the towns 250 committee to try and revive the area as a suitable film location.Chairman of the Kerry Film Festival Maurice Galway, Alex Williams and Jerry O Grady are to assess the current industry’s situation and assert ways to move Kerry and Killarney forward in this direction. They say Galway has a dedicated team involved in promoting the county to production companies. Past films made in Kerry include Ryan`s Daughter in the 1960’s and more recently Far and Away which was partly filmed in west Kerry.
