It`s been confirmed by Minister John O Donohue that the Jimmy The Masters site in Killarney is one of the proposed locations for the decentralised Department Of Arts Sport And Tourism. The Government has published a list of the first batch of departments that will be decentralised to the regions over the next four years which includes Killarney and Listowel. Its expected Killarney will be ready to house the department by the end of 2006.Speaking on this mornings Kerry Today Minister John O Donohue said there is a number of reasons Killarney is included in the first phase of decentralisation. Meanwhile Cathaoirleach of Listowel Maria O Gorman says the OPW is looking at two Greenfield sites in the town. Listowel is to get 50 civil servants from The Department Of Finance. She says talks are at an advanced stage.
