Killarney Gardai investigate spate of distraction thefts in the town

Gardai are appealing to shopkeepers and customers in Killarney to be vigilant following a spate of distraction thefts in the town. garda station killarneyBetween January 18th and 24th there were such incidents where women of eastern European origin targeted a number of locations. The women work in pairs with one distracting their victim while the other steals items such as wallets. Garda Damien Callinan is appealing for anyone with information to contact Killarney Garda Station: [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/18023/medium/”] Meanwhile, Gardai are investigating the theft of a car while it was being test driven by a potential buyer. Around 10pm on January 30th the owner of the car met the buyer in a supermarket car park in Macroom who managed to make off with the vehicle following the test drive. The stolen car is a black Ford Focus with a registration number 07 D 40618. Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen the stolen car to contact them.
