Kerry’s two new councillors settle into roles

KCC chamberKerry’s two newest councillors are settling into the role. Maura Healy-Rae was today formally co-opted onto Kerry County Council replacing her father Danny who was elected to the Dail in the General Election. Her brother Cllr Johnny Healy-Rae had the unique opportunity to propose her co-option. She said her father is a hard act to follow but she is looking forward to the role: [audio_player src=””]

    Meanwhile, Fianna Fail TD John Brassil’s council seat has been filled by John Lucid. The Ballyheigue man retired from the Moneypoint Power Station two years ago. He was selected over the weekend following an interview process by Fianna Fail. Cllr Lucid admits there’s a learning curve ahead for him: [audio_player src=””]
